LATEST PROJECT - APPEAL FOR SUPPORT: Our Office

We are planning to build an office at Monte Sahaja, and we welcome your donations to help us make it a reality. Mooji Sangha, the charity that sponsors and supports Mooji's Satsangs, accepts donations for this purpose.

This caravan has been our office space for 1 year now. From here, the team has organized intensives and retreats, created building plans for Monte Sahaja, kept the mooji.org website up and running, transcribed and edited Satsang material for books, Youtubes and podcasts, and Mooji has shared Skype Satsangs and live Satsang broadcasts worldwide.

In many ways, this office is a miracle. There is no landline electricity at Monte Sahaja; solar panels provide electricity to our laptops, mobile phones, batteries, tools, cameras, and recording devices. It has provided a dry and warm place to work during the rains, it has the most beautiful view, and it has been our internet hub and way to connect with the ‘outer’ world.

However, with a growing number of people on the land and an increase of activities associated with building an Ashram, it is the time to build a larger and more stable office so that the work can continue in an easier and more efficient way.

It has been at times very challenging, but also humorous to work in such a space. The comical video below is a slight exaggeration, but it’s not far from the truth of the Monte Sahaja office working conditions!

Making a Donation Towards the Office Project

Monte Sahaja Update (posted 25 February, 2012)

We receive innumerable letters and requests from people who wish to spend time with Mooji in Portugal at Monte Sahaja. Mooji's intention is to create a space here where at some point intensive retreats can be offered.

As we work towards this goal, Monte Sahaja is a construction site, and as such there is no possibility to host people on the land in the coming months. Only Mooji and a small team of people with certain specialised skills are living and working at Monte Sahaja.

We ask that for now, please refrain from sending letters requesting to come to Monte Sahaja. We will update this message as things change and progress.

We will continue to broadcast Satsangs live from Monte Sahaja whenever possible.

While the land is being developed, Mooji plans to continue offering Satsang as he has in the past, in various places around the world. Please see the schedule page for details, or join the email list to be kept informed of changes and additions to the Satsang schedule.

If you have specific building skills in the areas of carpentry, construction, and bricklaying and you wish to offer your services, please write to and include the following:

• Your name and contact information (email and phone)
• A photo of yourself
• A description of your experience in your area of expertise
• A list of dates when you are available and wish to be of service

More about Mooji in Portugal:

Many people are asking about Portugal and what Mooji's plans are. Is he already in Portugal? Is he moving there? Is there an Ashram? When will he begin holding Satsangs or retreats there? Can we come? Can we help?

These questions were put to Mooji. Below is some information he wishes to share with you:

Some land has come to Mooji in Southern Portugal. Mooji and several members of the Sangha are presently living in Portugal. His intent is to create a space where intense Satsang retreats may be held. Mooji has chosen this place for its peace, beauty and remoteness. Here, he will meet those who are deeply drawn to truth and authentic Self-discovery. He speaks of being guided to this region.

At present there are no buildings on the land. Though we have water, there is no electricity. The land has been unoccupied for the past thirty years. Over the coming months, we will be looking at ensuring the basic needs and requirements are in place so that structural work may begin. Please understand that this project will probably be spread over a few years. It is unlikely that Satsangs will be held there for quite some time. However, there is the intention to employ body, mind and heart to make sure that we can hold retreats there as soon as possible.

Mooji highly appreciates the offers to help, but, for the moment, coming to the land is by invitation only and just a few will be participating at this early stage of this project. Please do not just arrive on the land unexpectedly, even if you have the skills to contribute.

Tools Needed:

• Cordless Makita 18V circular saw with batteries
• Extra Makita 18V Li-ion batteries
• Wood drill bits full range of sizes useful including extra long size
• Good hand saws
• Large professional chainsaw
• Power planer (preferably Dewalt/Makita or Bosch)
• Power sander belt, orbital or palm (preferably Dewalt/Makita or Bosch)
• Clamps: Quick clamps and F clamps useful
• Sledge hammer
• Selection of window and door furniture (handles / clasps / hinges) as they are difficult to purchase in Portugal
• A bandsaw for the workshop
• Mitre/chopsaw/sliding mitre saw
• Spare circular saw blades for table saw/skill saw/chop saw
• Professional heavy duty nail gun
• Waterproof working jackets

There are many projects underway at Monte Sahaja. Currently we are working on:

• Replanting trees
• Building terraces
• Building compost toilets and showers
• Building steps
• Providing water throughout the land
• Creating new roads and maintaining existing roads
• Building cabins which will be used for retreat housing in the future
